Di Moda was founded by Kathy and Jenni - a mother daughter team. 

 

Kathy has been sewing clothing for herself, her children, and her friends for longer than she can remember.  As the oldest daughter of seven children, she taught herself  to sew as a teen.  While sewing began as a necessity for her, it steadily grew to be a favorite hobby and pasttime.  In September 2010, Kathy was diagnosed with Cancer.  It was during her chemotherapy treatments that she longed to keep busy in order to keep her mind off her illness. 

 

At the same time,  Kathy's oldest daughter Jennifer was recovering from treatments for Breast Cancer which was diagnosed in June 2010.  Jennifer, or Jenni as she likes to be called, was interested in starting a business and came up with the idea of "softysets."  And so began the creation of Di Moda.  

 

Together Kathy and Jenni enjoy working together to create their designs.  They have fun shopping for soft and fun materials.  While they do not have an actual shop other than their website, you can find them selling their wares at most of the fairs and festivals in St. Louis and its surrounding areas.  Make sure you check the website to find out in which events they will be participating!
